Right now I can only think of...

    1. Always pack a goody bag for the restaurant or doctors appointment. Leave it in the car only take it out at the said places.. Make sure you switch up what you bring from time to time so they don't get bored. Along the same lines keep an Emergency bag in the car basically an over night bag for you and your child just incase. Trust me it comes in handy!

  3. Trust anything Apples says - I've seen her in action and she's amazing. Seriously.

My tip - never walk into one room without carrying something from another room that needs to go into your destination room. Make sense? Basically - always multi-task. Keeping up with the house, I find, keeps me sane.

Keep a list of your kids current medications and conditions in your wallet with the insurance cards. If it a rare condition, keep a small overview of the condition with it. During an an emergency you may not have the ability or patience to explain rare conditions properly.

Have the kids help clean. We can't do it all. Delegate.

Scale down on the amount of clutter in your house.

  6. Once your child outgrows something, get rid of it immediately. Donate, sell, or just toss. Outgrown clothes and shoes pile up fast.

  7. I just wrote a post about this on my blog! I stole the tip from my own single mother, who did this with me:

As soon as your child is old enough to entertain him/herself without direct supervision for a little while in the mornings, make it easy for them to make their own breakfast. Since preschool, my son has had his own shelf in a lower kitchen cabinet that holds his plates, bowls, cups, and utensils (all plastic and unbreakable in the early days). Select snacks are also kept in the cupboard: usually just cereal, but sometimes crackers and fig newtons and other healthy treats. Before he developed self-restraint, I kept only a single serving of each treat in small containers in his cupboard. Eventually, I could just throw entire boxes in there. My kid is a big cereal eater, so when he was younger I also kept some milk in a water bottle (easier for little hands to grip while pouring) on a low shelf in the fridge.

My son loved it because it made him feel grown up, and I loved it because I'd get an extra 20 minutes (or more, on the days he was content to play by himself for a bit after breakfast) of light sleep.

freecycle.org It's a yahoo group. People post on it things they need and things they are getting rid of it. I can't tell you how many toys, books, clothes, household items, etc... we've gotten FOR FREE! I even got rid of an old exercise bike that was in my apartment when i moved in.

  9. LOL!!! I LOVE the idea to have our kids throw cupcakes at potential guys we want to meet while at festivals!!! That was from the owner of this forum!!! Booyah!! I have two festivals coming up !!!

But seriously, us Single moms have been strong enough to do everything and probably do the shopping all the time....why should man hunting be any different??? I just think that we have to get over the myth that women need to be approached....BUT, that guy better prove his worth before any sleeping over, moving in,etc!!! YOU all know what you can do!!! And if you have a successful home...so does he.....Make him prove what he can bring to the table....and start looking around!! Ask friends to invite singles at gatherings so you can mingle....just don't do blind dates that it is rude to stand up for yourself....
